Apple Calendar repeating yearly event showing on the wrong date

I created an all day event (my dog's birthday 😁) back in 2018 and set it to repeat yearly on 6th May but for some reason in 2021 it started appearing on 5th May and the same in 2022, 2023 and beyond, so now it's wrong.

2019 and 2020 show it on the correct date 6th May. Why has it done this?

I have sync events switching from weekly or yearly repeat to daily. The whole point of doing a sync is to not have to add information to two separate calendars on separate devices. This has been happening since updating to Monterey in 2021. I have called apple support numerous times and they have not been able to suggest a fix. This makes my calendar info almost unusable. Suggesting I go back and edit every entry every time I do a sync makes syncing a complete waste of time. There is some error syncing using USB. Why can't apple fix it? I've been making this complaint for 2 years and still it's happening.

Can you post a screen capture of the event's edit window, showing the start date, end date, and repetition? Then when it's closed, drag the event to the desktop, right-click on it, and open with TextEdit. Copy the content and paste it here for analysis.

For the screen capture, press Shift-Command-5, frame a meaningful area, look in the options where the picture file will be saved (desktop by default), and press Enter. Add to the discussion with the second-last icon (mountain and moon) at the bottom of this text field.

Hello Jameson198509,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's very nice to hear that you created a calendar event for your dog's birthday! If the incorrect date or information is populating for this event, we recommend that you try to edit that information to make sure it populates correctly. If that doesn't help out, you can simply delete that event and recreate. Steps on how to edit, delete and create calendar events can be found here: Add, modify, or delete events in Calendar on Mac - Apple Support

We really hope these steps help you out. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care!
