So my phone is black but notifications still come through with sound and vibrations. I do the full restart using volume button and power button but the screen still doesn’t work. Is there a way I can connect it to the computer with having to access my phone

I don't think so, sorry. Many connections (generally the one with a computer too) require that you input your passcode (and/or your Apple ID), but if the screen is broken....
If you don't have a recent full backup, but you have things synced to iCloud, you can try copying/saving those things to your computer, using this procedure:--> Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud
