Ventura 13.3.1 - Printer queue will not open in normal boot

The issue i'm having is that the printer queue in Printers and Scanners will not open. When clicked there is no response. If I boot into Safe Mode, the queue opens normally and i can see when a file is in the queue to print.

The system prints normally to a directly connected USB printer at home (still no printer queue function but prints). At work the printer requires network authentication that I cannot provide because I cannot access the print queue. Any suggestions? What am I missing? I'm looking for options before doing a clean install. I feel like it's a cache or preference file but not sure what I could remove.

I've tried newest version of drivers from Toshiba and Epson.

I've reset the printing system from Printers and Scanners and reinstalled the printer.

I've reset the printing system from the command line and then reinstalled the printer.

I've used generic drivers instead of vendor specific drivers.

I've attempted to run the printer with Rosetta although it says it's a Universal app.

I have booted into Recovery and done a reinstall of the OS but I have NOT done a clean install.

So that we can all see what's going on in your machine, it would be best if you do this:

Download the Application Etrecheck from the Developer. This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer. It creates a detailed report of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer. The application is free but also has a paid version that has added features.

(The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.)

This is a workaround.

Open a page at http:localhost:631 and manage the queue on that page (as an admin).

If you get an error opening the page then run "cupsctl WebInterface=yes" to enable it first.

Via the CUPS admin page you can add/remove printers, select some drivers which are invisible in the usual macOS interface. often via auto select the end result is "generic driver' but sometimes here you can select a specific drivers hidden in the system!

Tip for those struggling with POS Thermal printers, unable to go into the settings of a printer, same problem as being unable to access the printer queue, then go to your CUPS admin web page.

Do read the CUPS manual, there is much more to do then via the usual system interface!

Hope this helps.
