is there a shortcut to enable live captions? I keep finding it on without ever enabling it in the settings.

Found out what turns it on, if you tap the back of your iPhone 5 times it toggles live captions on and off. Found it completely on accident while nervously tapping my phone.
I have the iPhone 15 Pro and found this feature going on and off with 3 clicks of the side button to the right of the screen. Really annoying when two clicks are used for Apple Pay.
tapping the back didn’t work.
3x taps on the back or 3x side clicks of your power button (looking at the front, the large single button on the right) has been the most overwhelming response.
The Applications you have may also turn it on.
I just found your response to how the live caption turns on on its own. Honestly I thought you were full of crap, but I just tapped the back of my phone and it does cause it to turn off and on. I’d have never known and why do they even have this as a function? Thanks for sharing.
I have tried both the responses and neither turn it on for me. I always find it turned off. I know how to go into setting to turn it off but I want to know how it is turning it on by itself. Any help is appreciated.
Sorry I wasn’t clear enough, the problem isn’t that I don’t know how to turn it on but I don’t why it keeps turning on— on its own
I have the same problem: I turn it off. It eventually turns itself back on.
I have not found a way to stop this. I don’t know of a shortcut
Go to Settings 
> Accessibility and turn it off
