Can I trade in an unopened 9th gen iPad?

I’ve been given an iPad (9th gen) as a gift, however I already have another iPad so I wanted to trade it in for something else or sell it back. Is that possible even if I have not opened the product or turned the iPad on at all?

You would likely get more selling the device than attempting to trade it in. You could also ask for the receipt to return for credit.
