Apple apps change my name to all caps
Various Apple apps like Mail, Safari, and Notes change my full name to all-capitals.
This only happens when both first and last name are typed. Example, if I type "John Doe" (assuming that's my name), a spelling suggestion pop-up box will suggest that it's spelled "JOHN DOE" and will automatically correct the spelling. A few observations:
- Only happens for the full name, typing only first name or only last name will not cause this
- Only happens on Apple apps, does not happen on third party apps such as MS Word
- Only happens for my own name, not for other names
- First observed after MacOS system upgrade to 13.3.1 (22E261)
- Full name is spelled correctly in Contacts > My Card
- Full name is spelled correctly in the user account
Please could you advise which setting or file contains the information on my name in upper case? I have run a full text search using
grep -r "JOHN DOE" /
However, this has not returned any results. Please do not suggest setting up a text replacement, booting in safe mode, or creating a new user account.
