Do you know what the Battery Health / Maximum Capacity reading is currently?
Settings > Battery > Battery Health and Charging > Maximum Capacity
If it's anywhere near 80%, it's about time for a new battery.
It might not be the battery, there are other possibilities (unfortunately significantly more expensive than a battery)
Make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple Service shop so they can hook up the diagnostic equipment and run some checks. Otherwise, we are playing a guessing game.
