How do I know if a hidden folder appearing in my iMac Finder is legitimate?

The following folder just appeared in my "Apps" list in my IMac Finder: IACPLHttpTransferClient. I searched and saw that it might be a hidden folder becoming visible, so I went to the Terminal utility and typed "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles False; killall Finder". This had no effect and the folder is still there. I suspect it's legit, but would love some confirmation before deleting it.
