Mac Studio Doesn't Sleep...!!

Mac Studio M1 Max 64 GB with Ventura 13.3.1 and Studio Display.

I use my Mac for photography (no video), with LR, Ps, Photo Mechanic Plus, Topaz Software, and Portraiture, nothing new or that I didn't use in the past without any problem, I also use a Loupedeck keyboard for LR and a Wacom Pro M pen tablet.

I got this computer on November 2022. From the beginning started experiencing some "issues" software related.

My Mac didn't want to lock or go to sleep, so I reported the problem and after spending more than 5 hours with different reps I had to go to the Apple store. Arrived home and after installing my software... problem returned.

I tried stopping software from Wacom and Loupedech from running in the background, but nothing happen.

After an update, it looks like I was back on business and my computer magically lock itself as requested and go to sleep, but my background software can't run, and every time I have to use them I have to launch them, I prefer that than turn off my computer every single night.

With the last Ventura 13.3.1, the problem returned.

Apple wanted me to perform the same 5 hours process once again...

Are you experiencing the same issue? I can't believe that a pro-quality and setup computer is not capable of a simple task as locking and going to sleep... I have the same software installed in my old Imac 2015 and run without any problem... the only reason for my upgrade... my old one has 32 Gb vs 64 with the new one... and due to the size of the photography files it makes it very slow and took me twice the time to edit. an event.

Comments and suggestions are welcome...

On my Mac Studio I do not use sleep because it can impact Time Machine ejecting for no reason. I just have my display turn off after several minutes of no use. I also shut my system down nightly. However, if you really want to use sleep I would open Utilities, Activity monitor and look at the "preventing sleep" column. Check the apps and see if one is preventing the sleep function.

My new M2 Mac Studio is doing the same thing when I use the menu to Sleep--it doesn't like to really go to Sleep. Sometimes it will Sleep but keep waking and going back to sleep or it just doesn't want to sleep at all. I have found that if I push the power button on the back of the Mac and hold it until I get the window on the Mac asking what I want to do, if I select Sleep, it seems to work. I did this yesterday evening and it seemed to stay in Sleep all night, as far as I know. It is worth a try.
