Can’t open OnSong away from Wi-Fi

I just went to a gig and when I tried to use OnSong it tried to open then immediately shut down. After frantically trying to get it working with no Wifi connection I connected to a hotspot from another phone and got it working to save the day and lots of embarrassment. I never had this problem before when using it at multiple gigs. I will try to uninstall and reinstall but now I’m not confident it won’t happen again!

Hello Jesain,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

These steps can help with 3rd party apps:

"If an app on your iPhone or iPad doesn't work as expected, try this.

1.Close and reopen the app

Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2.Restart your device

Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3.Check for updates

To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4.Delete the app, then redownload it

Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed."

More details can be found here: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

If the issue persists, you may need to reach out to the developer.

You can do so by going to :How to contact an app developer

Hopefully this helps.

Cheers!

I was able to get help from the support group and they said a new version of OnSong is coming out soon that should take care of that problem. Apparently, it has something to do with remembering the last song you were working on using Wi-Fi and then trying to remember it when away from Wi-Fi. In the tools section, there is an option to forget the last song. Changing to "Forget Last Song" might be all you need to do. You might try that first. Ultimately, they let me join the beta testing program, which I did, and have not had a problem since. Good luck.
