Apple Store Repair Service Broke my phone

Today 04/21/23, I took my fully functioning iPhone XR to just replace the battery at the Apple store in Bethesda, MD. The battery replacement was going to cost $90. They spent some time with my phone and after two hours had not replaced the battery but instead I found that they had broken the phone and told me that I now needed a new screen, battery and a speaker. This phone was working fine before I walked into the Apple Store and I now have no working phone that needs a new screen at a minimum. And if I want my phone back working the way it was when I handed it to the repair technician I have to pay $300. What kind of service is this??

The same thing happened to me at the Unicorn Apple Authorised Store in DLF Mall of India, Noida. I went there to get my battery replaced, and they informed me that they wouldn’t be responsible for any damage if my phone had been opened by a third-party service. My phone had never been serviced or opened before, and I conveyed this to them. They provided me with a receipt that stated everything, including the screen, was functioning properly. However, a few hours later, they told me that the screen was damaged during the battery replacement procedure and admitted it was their fault. Despite this, they asked me to pay a very high amount for the screen replacement along with the battery cost. Additionally, Apple support has been unresponsive and unhelpful. Did you manage to resolve your issue?

To all readers...

Using Liquid Screen Protector:

To avoid a crack next time around, consider using liquid screen protector on your iPhone. Two brands that I use are Liquid Nano and Liquid Armor

Note:

Placing liquid fixes to the iPhone's screen (i.e. Liquid Nano or Liquid Armor) would cancel your AppleCare coverage. So, avoid using it, if you have AppleCare on your iPhone.
