Can someone PLEASE answer the following:-

They are two completely different accounts. If you used the same password for both accounts (not recommended), then they are the same. Otherwise, no, they are not the same.
The exception is if you are referring to your iCloud.com email account, which is part of your Apple account, in which case it is one account. Same ID and password.

If your email address ends in @iclolud.com, then it uses your Apple ID password.
If you use some other email (e.g. @gmail.com) as your Apple ID then it would usually have a different password.

There is only one password per Apple ID. Your iCloud.com email password is the same as your Apple ID. You may want to contact Apple Support: Contact - Official Apple Support
Thank you for your reply. My problem is I have forgotten my email password and can’t find a way of changing it. I have tried my apple id password but it doesn’t work. (as you explained). Any help would be most welcome
