iPhone XR running 16.4.1, MacBook Air running12.6.5 (Intel chip) won't connect to back up phone... Repeated "Trust this computer" message, which instantly disappears, so I can't do the backup. Any hints?

Having given all the devices a good night's rest and battery charge, the backup went ahead with no trouble this morning... Perhaps the battery charge level on the phone may be a significant factor.

Did you try using a different cable/port?
Restart the computer, and try again.
Yes, restarted both phone and laptop, tried different ports and cables... same response!

I am having difficulty getting my iphone to connect to my Mac laptop... The "Trust this computer" messages repeatedly appears and disappears before I can press the Trust button and progress to the passcode... Any hints?
