im trying to connect my iphone to my mac and it keeps bouncing back and forth between connected and not connected. The “trust this computer” pop up comes up and goes away. All software is up to date and I’ve restarted my phone and computer. I’ve also tried multiple cables. My phone is seen in finder. How do I connect my phone to my Mac?

Ensure that there is no pocket lint or debris in the Lightning port of the iPhone. Several gentle puffs of compressed air from a can and a gentle sweep of the port with a toothpick is all that is necessary to clear it of any junk that may interfere with the cable connections.

I’m at a loss as to why your setup is unwilling to connect via a USB cable.

If those do not help, contact Apple Support for some phone assistance.
Are you logged into and using iCloud between these devices? If so, that could be hampering your ability to connect to the iMac via USB.
If it shows in Finder, click on it in the sidebar to choose the Backup and Sync options.
