"Family Purchase Sharing Update" problems: any workarounds?

[Problem #1] Yesterday I added the new Apple (Morgan) savings account. I now have the red notification on settings inviting me to share this in Family Sharing. (I do not want to do so.) When I click on View Details I am prompted to "Allow Sharing," but no option not to (!), and the red notification remains.

[Problem #2] If, as suggested to limit payment methods (I only want to share Apple Card with my wife, but not the other three cards, and not the new savings account), I go to Settings/name/Media and Purchases/View Account and click on "Family Sharing," it states that my payment info is shared with my family, and I can "manage Family Sharing in Settings app" (??) If I click on "Manage Payments" I see my four credit cards I have in my wallet. Okay, I then go to Family Sharing and see that I've no way to limit which cards I want to share (they are all included in the sharing). Is this really the case?

I have the exact same issue. Furthermore, it takes away the ability for my other family members to add and manage their own payment methods. This just occurred overnight. I called Apple support and they of course deny any changes that would cause this. They recommended that I turn off Purchase Sharing to allow my other family members to add and manage their own payment methods. BTW, it removed all of their previously setup payment methods, so they had to add them back. Now with it turned off, they can’t update or use any apps that I purchased and were sharing with them. Apple screwed this up royally…..

I assumed, wrongly, that there would be options and further info after pressing the big blue button. Who would think giving my credit card details to my family members wasn’t optional? I can’t find any options, in any menus, anywhere to adjust this. My wife has just checked her wallet and can’t see a change but hasn’t yet updated to ios16.1.4. I have family members I specifically do not want to share financial information with, for good reason, but I’m happy to share music and apps with. Location too. What the **** is going on?
