Night Shift problem after Ventura update

I have a 14 inch 2021 Apple M1 Macbook Pro (bought in 2022). Recently I updated it to Ventura macOS. Since then, when it runs out of charge (so i assume goes to sleep), I have problems with night shift. I charge my laptop then turn my laptop back on. Night Shift will say enabled but it isn't actually working. The only thing that fixes it is clicking 'restart' to restart my whole laptop. This seems annoying and you lose the tabs that you had open etc. I don't think that it is a problem with location settings. I have my night shift set to custom and 13:00 to 12:59 so that it is on all day. I do have the 'dynamic wallpaper' that changes throughout the day. However, I had this wallpaper prior to the update and had no problem with night shift. Thank you for your help!

I have the same Mac and I have this problem too. I messed around with the settings a lil bit and thought it was because I changed the resolution to 1800 x 1169 (from default 1512 x 982) but adjusting it back didn't do anything.

What worked for me is to switch the Preset from Apple XDR Display to Apple Display. After a black screen, it adjusts it so that night shift comes back on and then I just switch it back to XDR where the night shift is working again.

I guess I just have to do this every time I forget to charge and drain the battery (which probably isn't good anyway) but at least this is less of a hassle than restarting the laptop.

Hope this helps!
