Error code -36

The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “” can’t be read or written.

(Error code -36)

I keep getting the above error when trying to copy and paste a folder. I can copy and paste the items inside the folder, but it won't work if I try to copy the folder itself.

I have review the permissions and both the original folder and the destination folder have Read & Write permissions and are unlocked.

I just changed my MacBook Pro 2018 to a new one 2022, and have the latest Ventura 13.3.1; and the problem appeared after I moved the data from the old to the new one. The problem is in the MacBook Pro 2022

From my Desktop that is synchronized in iCloud to any other destination, including under other folders of the Desktop.

I see that the other way around doesn't have this problem, I can copy folders from other sources into the Desktop

I found out it was a problem with iCloud.

I signed out iCloud and restarted the computer. Then I signed in my iCloud again and activated the Desktop & Documents Folders on the iCloud Drive section on Systems Settings. It worked ok after that.

What are the specific paths you are copying? Source and Destination?
