Airpods Pro hissing noise on Left ear

Airpods Pro hissing noise on Left ear - hissing very audible in Noise Cancellation, getting louder on transparency mode, independent of volume, independent of connection. Stops only when Noise Cancellation is selected Off.

Problem exists most of the time, randomly might go away but is coming back after a while.

Just to mention, latest updates installed both on iPhone Pro 13 and Airpods.

Hi there emmanouil143,

If you are having issues with the audio quality of your AirPods Pro, the first thing we would recommend is to reset them. This refreshes the firmware and can resolve unexpected behavior like this. These steps from How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro show how to do this:

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
* If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
* If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.
5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*

7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.

If this continues after resetting your AirPods Pro, next check if this occurs when they are connected to another device to help narrow down whether the AirPods Pro or the device they are connected to are responsible for this issue.

If this occurs with multiple devices, then reach out to Apple Support to look into your available service options. Apple Support

Cheers!

Hey emmanouil143,

Even though the Apple specialist proabably did a better job of explaining how to fix, I thought I'd still try to help hahah.

  1. Make sure that you have the latest software on your connected iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.
  2. Check that your connected device is nearby, and there's no wireless interference or obstructions between you and your device
  3. Listen to audio from a different app to see if the app causes the issue.

Here is an Apple Support document that explains it better then I can. If your AirPods Pro (1st generation) make crackling or static sounds - Apple Support (IE)

Thank you for trying to help, but all the steps that you suggest are already done and the problem is still there. Even with no device connected.

There are multiple reports for exactly the same issue! I did not find a single answer that corrects the problem.

Again an Apple issue that Apple pretends that does not exist maybe?

Denial of a problem has been a “policy” for Apple until they are forced to accept it!
