Tax-free shopping and trade-in

Hi, I am currently in Japan for holiday. Can I trade in my iPhone for a new iPhone at any Apple Store and get tax-free exemption from Japan’s consumption Tax? My old iPhone is an iPhone 12 that is bought from Singapore. Also, are there any region lock if I buy an iPhone in Japan but use it in Singapore?
