Can’t redownload app after removing it from iPhone Home Screen, when I try to it only gives option to open from iTunes and need to do this every time as it won’t let me download as there isn’t an option only open option.

I'm not sure which app you are referring to but this is what I have to offer :
On your Home Screen , slide the screen to the left , the last one is the App Library .
Tap " App Library " and you'll see all of your apps , hit the cloud with the down arrow and it should redownload .
In the App Store , go to "search " , type in the app and tap the cloud with the arrow icon to redownload it .…
You can also " offload " an app which removes the amount of space that the app uses , but keeps your data : settings > general > iPhone storage > find the app and tap " offload app " .
In that search , tap the name & icon , then " Siri & Search " , under suggestions , turn on " show on Home Screen " :
Until you have a solution , you can go to the app website , hit the share button , select " show on Home Screen … this will put a bookmark icon on your Home Screen that you can tap and get to easily .
I think it's in there somewhere 🤔
I’ve looked in settings and searched, it says the app name and icon but it’s not showing on phone Home Screen, I had to delete and reinstall last week because it crashed, however I’m not able to re download because the little cloud is not there, instead the is the word open. So everytime I need to go in the app I have to Google search it, and open it via iTunes.

Try : settings … above your name there's a search bar … type in the app , this may tell you where it is ?
There isn’t a cloud icon to tap, instead it says open where the cloud icon should be.
