iphone 14 pro not charging after using for 6 months

I bought an iPhone 14 Pro six months ago, but one day it suddenly stopped charging with the cable and I could only charge it wirelessly. I took it to an Apple store for inspection, and they reported that the charging port was corroded and couldn't charge with the cable. However, they said this was not covered by the one-year warranty and I would have to pay for the repair. I've been using the phone normally and it has never been exposed to water, so there is no possibility that I caused the corrosion in the charging port. Could this be a case of product quality issue? I have used iPhones in the same way before and never had this problem, but now it's happening on my iPhone 14 Pro which I have been using for only six months. What are my options for communicating this issue?

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

Take it back to the Apple Store and ask them to explain the corrosion.

If your phone shows liquid damage, that is not covered by warranty.

If your Lightning port is damaged but the phone's liquid damage indicators have not been triggered, ask them to explain that.
