Thanks for the follow up to the soliton. I was having the same issue and also had Advanced Data Protection turned on. Turning this off shouldn’t be a requirement for getting this set up when your phone is near and on the same network. Please do better Apple!

Error 7003 typically indicates a problem with the network connection, or even with the setup process itself.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Check your network connection: Make sure your HomePod mini is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone or iPad. Also, ensure that your Wi-Fi network is stable and has a strong signal.
  2. Restart your HomePod mini: Unplug your HomePod mini from the power source, wait for a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
  3. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
  4. Update your software: Make sure your iPhone or iPad is running the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
  5. Reset your HomePod mini: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your HomePod mini. To do this, press and hold the top of the HomePod mini until the light turns red. Then, set it up again.
