Cannot shut down after latest Monterey update

Following the installation of the latest Monterey 12.6.4, my Macbook cannot shutdown as there is a popup message from Install in Progress that says software is being installed, with "stateful firewall being installed". Its been 2 days and its not allowing me to shut down. Any help appreciated

MacBook Air computer won't Shut Down My MacBook Air won't shut down. When I try to shut down it says "Your computer can't be shut down now, because software is being installed. mac book air shuts down My mac book air, 2015 shuts down sporadically I tried resetting the smc or something... DIdn't work.

Thanks. Found out it was my McAfee antivirus that was causing it. Uninstalled it and it was fine. Will be contacting McAfee to seek their input.
