iPod Mini Shuffle no longer syncs to iMusic

So I have a waterproof iPod Mini shuffle that I use while swimming. Recently I tried to sync it to iTunes but iTunes no longer exists and it's now iMusic. For some reason, iMusic doesn't recognize my device. I would love to add/edit my swim list. Can anyone shed any light on how to resolve my problem. My Mac laptop is OS Catalina 10.15.7 Not sure what my shuffle is because I can't connect it, LOL.

ipod shuffle 4th gen and M2 Macbook Air Hi - When I plug my ipod shuffle 4th gen into my new M2 MacBook Air it shows in Finder and is mounted in Disk Utility. But when I click on it in Finder so that I can change the music that is synched onto the ipod, the word Loading ... and a spinning wheel display for about three minutes and then it says "The selected device could not be found." I have tried turning the ipod on and off; upgrading the MacBook to 13.0.1; turning the MacBook off and on. Any suggestions please?

ipod shuffle (2nd generation) not showing up in Finder My ipod shuffle (2nd generation) is not showing up in Finder (or Music). I've tried restarting my laptop, using safe boot mode, trying a different cord. Because the shuffle charging cord is usb 2.0 (I think?) and my laptop is the usb-C, I use a dongle to make the connection. I'm using a Macbook Pro 2019, OS Monterey 12.4

With macOS Catalina and later, to sync your devices, you'll be using the Finder. Read more about this here:
