Screen Time limits not working
The screen time limits I have set for my kids keep disappearing/changing/not working. I have discovered multiple times that my kids' phones are not being controlled via the screen time limits I have set. We all have months-old iPhone 14s with updated iOS. We **never** (across years) had these issues on our older iPhone 12s! And the problems began right after upgrading to the 14s. Now, at least twice a month, the limits stop working, and I have to go in and reset EVERYTHING from scratch. The only thing it retains is the days/times for the phones to shut down for the night. It's DEACTIVATED, but my programmed times are there to select. Oh and the "always allowed contacts" that is there as well. The screen time settings do NOT retain the "always allowed" apps that I have set. Those disappear. So I have to go through all of the apps to allow them Life 360, maps, music, books, their school apps, etc. Major pain! The content restrictions also vanish!
The most troublesome part of this is that Apple, via this failure, is providing my kids access to apps, excessive screen time, and, most importantly, ADULT WEB CONTENT without my consent, when they have sold me a product that promised electronic/passive parental control over these things!
And yes, I know how to use screen time, yes we are all up to date, yes we have done the restarts, yes my password is unknown to my kids, and no, responding with basic instructions - like they have done on others' posts - will not help. This is unacceptable and I do NOT appreciate Apple taking like $4,000 from my family and giving us something where the most important safety feature does not function as promised.
There are also times when the screen time app does not allow me to set time limits for apps or add content restrictions. I have screen recordings of it the last time it did that to me.
I JUST corrected all of the failed controls TWO DAYS ago, checked just now, and they are jacked up AGAIN!
