Classical Music App, Hi-Res Lossless

Is there any way to browse / search and filter results so that only hi-res lossless tracks display? Or, is there a way to view the audio quality of each track when searching?

Hi Em-d-Kay,

The support article About lossless audio in Apple Music outlines the details on listening to music in Lossless format:

"What you need

You can listen to lossless on an iPhone or iPad updated to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS using:

  • A wired connection to headphones, receivers, or powered speakers
  • The built-in speakers
  • To listen to songs at sample rates higher than 48 kHz, you need an external digital-to-analog converter.

How to turn lossless on or off

  1. Go to Settings > Music.
  2. Tap Audio Quality.
  3. Tap Lossless Audio to turn it on or off. From here, you can choose the audio quality for streaming and downloading audio.
    • Lossless for a maximum resolution of 24-bit/48 kHz
    • Hi-Res Lossless for a maximum resolution of 24-bit/192 kHz"

If you'd like to see whether an album is Lossless, Dolby Atmos or Hi-Res Lossless, you can visit the album page for a song and it will be listed under the album title, artist name, genre, and year of release.

Regards.

Hi Jeff

Thanks, but I already know that. I’m looking for a way to filter results by hi-res lossless. I saw a review that claimed you can do it, but I guess it’s inaccurate.

In the standard Music app, if you browsed the classical section in the past, there was a section called hi-res lossless that showed all the titles. That has also now gone.

But thanks anyway for the reply, I appreciate it!
