Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen Yellow tint / Chroma 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 not working

Hi,

I recently got an Apple TV 4K 3rd gen and I am encountering a few issues. I have the Apple TV connected to Denon X-3700H receiver through a certified ultra high speed HDMI cable and output of Denon receiver connected to Epson 4010 projector (again through a certified ultra high speed fiber optic HDMI cable). I have done the Check HDMI connection for 2 mins and did not receive any error there, so I know the cables are good.

  1. I chose 4K SDR and enabled Match content on both frame and freq but I am getting a yellow tint/yellowish hue in my picture, When I went and chose 4K HDR, match content to OFF, the yellow tint goes away and picture looks original.
  2. I am not able to choose the Chroma level from 4:2:0 to either 4:2:2 or 4:4:4. It gets defaulted to the original option

The 4010 model projector is said to have HDMI 1.4, which means no HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 features will be available (thus excluding 4K commercial content). Bandwidth will be limited to 8.16 Gbps over HDMI because of that port; and chroma 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 would exceed that limit for 4K @50/60 Hz. Chroma 4:2:0 shouldn’t be seen as a limiting factor though, as ALL streaming video is encoded as 4:2:0.
