Location services and airplane mode

Is there any way to make the location services switch off and on automatically? I’m mostly thinking of airplane mode switching it off and on, like with WiFi and Bluetooth, but maybe it’s possible with a focus if not airplane mode? Is there any way at all of switching it off and on automatically?

You cannot get Location Services to deactivate automatically when you activate Airplane Mode - but you can create a shortcut that opens the Location Settings menu automatically when Airplane Mode is activated - from there you can then deactivate Location Services. At the same time, you can also create the same shortcut for when you deactivate AirPlane Mode, so that you can easily activate Location Services again.

You create the shortcut like this:

1. Open the Shortcuts App.

2. Tap Automation at the bottom, and tap Create Personal Automation or "+" in the corner, at the top.

3. Scroll down and find AirPlane Mode and select.

4. Select "Is Turnes On" and tap Next

5. Search for and select "URL"

6. Paste this path: prefs:root=Privacy&path=LOCATION

7. Select and add "Open URLs"

8. Tap Next and disable Ask Before Running and then Done.

To also open when you disable AirPlane Mode, do another automation, but in step 4, uncheck Is Turned On, and check Is Turned Off.
