charging on always on display not updating unless touched

I am using Iphone 14 pro. I just noticed that with my Always on Display turned ON and when its charging, I see that the battery percentage widget was stuck at 25%. So, I was surprised why this happened and then when I tap the screen, then only it updated to 36%. So, what's the point of using Always on Display if they cant update the widget? Also, they are not showing battery percentage in the status bar too.
