IOS16 - battery charging status

Prior to IOS16, if the phone is in charing mode and I wake up display, it will show the status as well as how many percentage it charged, and/or if fully charged it will show that as well. After updated to IOS16, it no longer shows such. I do not want to add battery widget. How can I get this feature back? I am not sure if this feature hidden somewhere. If anyone knows, do let me know.
