I am trying to use the docking station with my M1 MacBook pro and am having issues. I can connect, but my 2 external monitors just mirror each other - how do I make them both act as additional screens? I don't want them mirrored

SOLUTION FOUND: for anyone that stumbles upon this with the same issue, you need to have 1 DP to DP cable for the first monitor, and a DP to usb/thunderbolt cable for the second monitor. I previously had DP to DP twice, and since getting a DP to usb/thunderbolt cable the issue is now fixed!

Hi Grant, thanks for your response. I am using 2x DELL P2422H displays with the dock. It works perfectly with no issues on my Lenovo ThinkPad.
However, on my MBP, it just mirrors the display - any idea how I can solve this? Thanks!

The Mac can support up to two displays on one cable out of the Mac ONLY when the port and the cable are genuine Thunderbolt , and the first device is a genuine Thunderbolt device (Dock or Display).
Connecting with only a USB-C cable will NOT work on a Mac, regardless of whether your Windows computer supports it.
Does the Dock have a ThunderBolt symbol adjacent to its captive input cable, or a branching or double-headed arrow USB symbol?

Edit: sorry I just realised that my MBP doesn't seem to have a thunderbolt port - only USB C. How can I make this work? Sorry I'm a bit confused
Hi Grant, the input cable does have a thunderbolt symbol - I've tried to attach a photo but it keeps failing.

that dock has an upper limit on the sizes of display it can support. what displays at what sizes are you trying to use?
Thunderbolt ports on the Apple-Silicon M1 and M2 14-inch are implemented with USB-C connectors, and have the Thunderbolt symbol printed near the computer port.
okay, and the dock I am using supports thunderbolt - so how come it is not working?

Hi Grant, the dock itself has a built-in USB C cable that I am connecting to my MBP. The dock is a thunderbolt dock so I believe it has thunderbolt capability via the USB C?
