Video Control in Photos

I have Monterey 12.6.3. When I play a video in my photos on my MacBook the control to play/pause etc is right in the middle of the screen. Before updating to Monterey I could drag the control panel out of the way so I could see the full video while searching for something on it. How can I do this now?

Go into edit mode. The video is controlled by the slider at the bottom.

I know I can get it to disappear if I want to watch the full video at regular speed. I film for several minutes and then want to search for specific activity while playing back. I cannot go forward or back without the control in the middle of the video. I used to be able to move the control up to the top of the screen and out of the way so I could search on the video and not have my view blocked. This is what I’m trying to resolve. Thank you
