How to delete unwanted photos

I'm guessing that you mean deleting pictures from within Mac Photos.


If a picture is in an album, then using the Delete key will remove it from the album, but it will remain in the library and in any other albums it was also in. However, if you Command-Delete the picture, it will be removed from the library and from all albums, and it will be placed in Recently Deleted (where it can be recovered) for 30 days. Then it will disappear forever.


If you're really sure, and it's really important to you, you can go to Recently Deleted and hit Delete on the chosen image, and the picture will immediately be removed forever.
