How do I know if my charger port is damaged?

my phone charger keeps cutting in and out on charge. I have tried multiple charges and doing the same thing. There is some wiggle room in the charger port area when the charge is in.

I think the charging port on my phone is either one or damaged. I must force the cable into the port and bend it in order for it to start charging, and when I let go of the cable, it stops charging. I am wondering if my phone port is worn or damaged. When I insert the cable into the port, I must force it in and move it around in order to see it making contact and start charging. When I let go of the cable, it stops, charging immediately in order to keep charging. I must hold it and force in.

iPhone charger wont insert into port For anyone waking up or trying to insert the charging cable into the port and all of a sudden for no apparent reason it doesn’t fit……. I woke this morning with the same problem and PANIC, everything is on my phone incl. travel cards, credit cards etc…… I took a wooden tooth pick and made sure the port was clear and found the most minute piece of debris (a tiny tiny metal U shaped section). It looks like it’s come from the inner part of the charging port. Fished it out and I’m breathing easier but still mystified.

iPhone charger port Well I have a problem with the charger port and I’m really worried I’m not the smartest and best with having things so with having this happen I’m worried it broke or something to do with the phone idk if it’s the port I just unplugged the cored top lug it in somewhere else and it stoped charging thought it was the cored checked to see if it was and no because I checked a different charger and same thing no power please someone help me get this fixed I’m honestly kinda mad and disappointed I may broke my phone for the 2 time I just want to have it fixed I’m not smart and should be careful next time

Try cleaning out the pocket lint with a toothpick.
