Auto open last open window

Until recently, whenever I opened Numbers on my Mac it automatically loaded the spreadsheet that was open when it was quit. That is what I want it to do. Now, every time I open Numbers a window pops up asking me to choose a document to open. That's not what I want.


I can't find anywhere with a setting to do this and not sure why the behaviour changed. Any help would be appreciated.

Mac mini, macOS 12.6

The re-opening of windows is a function called Resume and is controlled by settings in the general system settings. If you have it set to ask to save documents before closing, that will stop Resume from working.
