Was my iphone12 actually hacked and is it safe after factory reset?
- I stupidly replied and also clicked a photo, sent to me in Facebook Messenger by an imposter, who had copied a friend's Facebook account. It didn't take me to another site but I'm worried it might have caused spyware/malware/trojans to be downloaded on my iphone. I have not jailbroken my iphone (although i bought it refurbed) and could not see Cydia or odd apps in apps library. Subsequently I did not see any odd popups/phonecalls/emails or texts and have not had any strange financial transactions. My iphone did not heat up but I remember that the battery ran low (down to red) around that time. I also found that on clicking, I think it was the Amazon app, I got a blank page with waves of light moving over it in my home. I charged the phone at a relative's house on 4G and had no problem accessing Amazon. Does all this indicate I was hacked and that someone could have stolen all my personal information?
- Two days later I panicked and factory reset my iphone, tapping 'erase all content and settings' and elected not to use a phone backup. After manually reinstating my apple id, apps and gmail I do have my old contacts back. Could any malware be hiding there? My second question is: If I was hacked, is my iphone now safe to re-add my banking app and apps that hold my card information please?
