Safari skips video ahead when paused

Hello,

In some sites, when I leave a video paused and return to it a few minutes later, the video has skipped few minutes ahead. I have noticed this happening when watching videos in "Amazon Prime Video" or "Dailymotion", and I was unable to replicate this in Google Chrome or another browser. Hence, I suspect this is an issue with Safari rather than these sites in particular.

I have not managed to find out how long exactly I have to leave the paused video idle for this to happen, or whether I have to change tabs, minimise Safari, etc., but I have found that the video is consistently forwarded by about 58 seconds (at least in the case with "Amazon Prime Video"). This could be perhaps related to how long ahead has the website buffered the video?

In any case, this is very annoying, having to skip back a minute or so every time I return to watch a video after a few minutes of absence. Any help with this issue would be appreciated!

This has been happening to me since the beginning on last year and it still hasnt been addressed. I guess people simply dont use safari anymore, they all just use chrome I guess which is why this deal breaking issue hasnt exploded on the scene. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS, IT HAPPENS ON EVERY SINGLE SITE WITH VIDEO IN, I tested it thoroughly and it happens to me every single time.
