Videos on safari

Since this last update 16.4.1 I believe, every time I try to watch videos on safari on full screen I get this message “wathever site is on full screen swipe down to exit”, but the problem is whenever I would go on full screen on a video safari used it’s on video player and now it seems the video player of the whatever website is been used instead, which is kind of annoying since most of video players don’t have the same features as the safari has. Did anybody else notice this? Is there a way to go back to how it was?

H wilton278,

Thank you for choosing to post in Apple Support Communities today, we're happy to lend a hand with Safari.

Let's see if we can help determine what's causing this behavior. Have you seen and tried any of the steps found in this article below? If not, go ahead and give those a try, then test Safari.

If this still continues, let us know more about what's happening. The more details you share the better we can assist.

  • Does this happen when only trying to play from one website?
  • Does this happen if you try to use another browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox?
  • Have you tried restarting the iPad Pro and only opening the Safari app to test playing a video?

Take care!
