It's important to note that iOS is the operating system for Apple's mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch), while macOS is the operating system for Apple's desktop and laptop computers, including the MacBook Pro.

As of my knowledge cutoff date of September 2021, Apple had not released an iOS 16 update yet. However, assuming that iOS 16 will be released in the future, it's important to note that it would not be compatible with the MacBook Pro because the MacBook Pro runs macOS, not iOS.

While macOS and iOS share many similarities and features, they are fundamentally different operating systems designed for different types of devices. Therefore, it's important to make sure you're using the correct operating system for your device. If you're unsure which operating system your MacBook Pro is running, you can check by clicking on the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen, selecting "About This Mac," and checking the information listed under "Overview."
