The only way to track your stolen AirPods is through your Apple ID using the FindMy app. You are the only person with access to the tracking data, Apple can't see your missing devices.

If your AirPods drop off visibility in your FindMy it is most likely to be due to one of two causes;

  • The Airpod battery is discharged and it is no longer communicating to nearby iOS devices. It may reappear if the thief recharges the battery
  • The AirPods are unable to contact a nearby iOS device (like the thief's iPhone) to report their location through the FindMy network.

The only advice I can offer is to set your AirPods as lost/stolen in your FindMy, so it becomes more difficult for the thief to sell them when he finds they are locked and useless.
