How do I fix the undoing of capitalization in dictation?

How can it be that the voice to text dictation can spell everything correctly, and then when you end the dictation, it UNCAPITALIZES the first word? I have turned off all three settings: auto punctuation, auto capitalization and even smart punctuation. I have even upgraded to a new phone hoping to leave this problem behind. Now, after all of the "turning things off" that may be messing with dictation's capitalization, at least we are down to only the FIRST word in a dictation being changed as soon as I end the dictation. (And you had BETTER turn off dictation before hitting send or you will be sending the most bizarre rewrites of what was "done" moments earlier on your screen.) Has anyone gotten back to the dictation we loved just a few short years ago?

A good place to start, is to ensure your device is up to date. You can learn how to create a backup and update your device here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

You may find these steps the most helpful:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.
