Hi Is_Purple,

Thank you for reaching out and posting in Apple Support Communities

We’re sorry to inform you that your iPod classic is considered obsolete: Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support

About obsolete products

Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago. Monster-branded Beats products are considered obsolete regardless of when they were purchased.

Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, with the sole exception of Mac laptops that are eligible for an additional battery-only repair period. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.

All the best.

While Apple no longer service iPod classic you may find a third party repair shop that can replace the battery for you, or you can buy the part and the necessary tools from Amazon or other online stores. I've replaced batteries in several 5th & 6th gen. classic. While the data should be OK you should not rely on the device's hard drive to store your media just in case something goes wrong. See Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community to copy off your files before you go any further.
