Very Bad Audio Quality in Whatsapp on Earspeaker

I have a problem with my iPhone 14 Pro Max (before that also with the 13 Pro max), it happens when I play a Whatsapp voice note or Whatsapp voice call on my ear not on speaker, I hear a robotic noise but it doesn’t happen all the time.

Once I switch to speaker then back to the ear speaker it becomes normal. It happens like 1-3/10 times.

Im sure its not an Hardware problem, because i switched the device 3 Times, with the same issue.

What to do? I also got my hardware checked in an Apple Certified Reseller, there is no problem.

How can I fix this and is anyone facing the same problem on Whastapp?

Hey m0nSTaR,

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max since November 2021 and I have the same bug with the ear piece speaker on WhatsApp. It happens sometimes and get fixed if I switch back to normal speaker and then again to the ear piece speaker.

I also reseted the iPhone with a factory reset and also reinstalled WhatsApp.

Bug is still there ...

Hey there m0nSTaR,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

To get started, do you experience any of the same issues you've described when on a normal phone call, or when using FaceTime? If not, and if this is only affecting WhatsApp, check out the steps in the following resource that can help: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support

If an app on your iPhone or iPad doesn't work as expected, try this.

1. Close and reopen the app
Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2. Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3. Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4. Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.

While we understand you're not having issues with the app closing or not responding unexpectedly, the steps above can help with troubleshooting other unexpected issues as well. If the issue persists after going through the steps above, the next best option would be to reach out to the app developers for additional information and possible troubleshooting steps. You can reach out to the app developers using the steps in this next link here: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Contact the developer of an iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS app
1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button  or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.
3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID.

We hope that's able to help.

Take care!
