split screen problems in Ventura 13.2

Split screen used to work perfectly, until I updated my M2 MacBook Air to Ventura. Safari & Photos "are not compatible" for split screen? I've enabled 'separate spaces' on the display settings. Is there something else I'm not finding after hours of Googling and trying different things? I'm still unable to use a split screen for these 2 applications. Any advice is most appreciated.

Interesting as I can Split Screen Photos and Safari without the need for Separate Spaces

The Green icon in Top Left of either of the two applications Photos and Safari

Split View of Safari and Photos Applications

Thank you Luis, I appreciate your fast response.

For example, I open both Safari and Photos. Click on the green button in Safari and tile it to right or left. And then try to click on Photos, but get a circle with a slash, saying not available in Split View. (Same thing happens with Messages, Power Point, etc)

When I try, I get a pop up message saying the windows are not compatible. Or that there are no available windows. The settings are all properly configured.

I've been using this on previous OS and it worked beautifully. I did find that if using Chrome, and not Safari, I can split the screen with Photos or other programs with no problem.

I can't drag & drop a photo into Messages, or email, or from Safari into PPT

I can't have 2 applications open on the screen. It's very frustrating.

Clearly the answer is to switch to Chrome, but I prefer Safari for a variety of reasons.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Right! Exactly! That's what I'm so accustomed to! But cannot get this to work on this machine. It's still under warranty, so if necessary, I'll contact tech support. Any helpful hints? I've been using split screen for so long. Right now I can't even get 2 screens up. They disappear into stage manager, whether it's enable or not.
