All Phone Contacts No Longer Appearing In Contacts App

Hi, after a recent update, all of my contacts are no longer appearing in my contacts app. When you go to contacts, lists, only "all icloud" list appears, there is no list available to select for phone contacts, when I turn icloud contacts off, the phone contacts list appears, but only the contacts that are on icloud appear in that list. There are more contacts still on my phone, as when I use the messages app, I can find people in there that aren't in my contacts app, also when people call me who aren't in my contacts app, their name still appears, does anyone know what has gone wrong and how I fix it, how do I get all of my contacts back in my contacts app? Thanks for your help.

Hi JMG087,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! If your contacts are missing, the steps from the article below can help:

If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud

Restore your contacts or bookmarks from an earlier version
1. Sign in to iCloud.com.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the window, then select Data Recovery.
3. Select Restore Contacts or Restore Bookmarks.
4. Select Restore next to the date before you deleted the content.
5. Select Restore again to confirm. After the restore completes, you get a notification on iCloud.com and an email at the address on file with your Apple ID.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
