I’m trying to connect an external microphone to my iPhone 13 Pro using a dongle (3.5 lighting adapter) but it won’t input any sound the phone continues to record using the main phone speakers. Is there a way to fix this? I know no sound input will come out when a microphone is attached but I think overall it’s just reading it as headphones and not a microphone through the dongle.

Have you tested the microphone or the adapter on a different iPhone or other device?
If you connect headphones, do those work?
