screen time notifications only on iPad, not iPhone

I recently purchased an iPad and set it up. I have screen time set up for my kids and their requests for more time, apps, etc. would come through on my iPhone. Now that I have the iPad, the notifications will only appear on the iPad. How can I make the notifications appear on my iPhone too? I never made any changes to notifications, it just started.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

The problem is not “my screen time” the problem is when my children request “more time” or an “app” the request notification will only come to my iPad and will no longer come to my iPhone! I have tried turning off notifications on my iPad and nothing works. The iPad is new, so the notifications use to come to my iPhone until I got the iPad.

Hello bamartin322,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like Screen Time settings aren't syncing from your iPad to iPhone. In this situation, we would want to ensure your Screen Time settings are set to sync properly.

According to the resource you found: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

We will want to follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll to and tap on Screen Time on your iPhone and iPad
  3. Toggle "Share Across Devices" to the on position

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hey there bamartin322,

While it wasn't clear, did you already follow the steps to toggle the 'Share Across Devices' option in both your iPhone and iPad settings? If yes, then we want to continue ruling out some other possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:

  1. Do you have your same Apple ID signed into both your iPhone and iPad?
  2. If you leave your iPad in one room, then only take your iPhone, do the notifications then show on your iPhone?
  3. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and Restart your iPad
  4. If you have compatible iPhone and iPad models, the latest version is iOS/iPadOS 16.3.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.

Cheers!
