Mac Mail | IOS Ventura | RAM | Increase | +70GB

My Mac is experiencing scenarios where it runs out of RAM due to a high activity on Mail application where it shows that is consuming +70GB ... I close the application and then reopen it and the problem is solve....but is annoying and worrying what is the root cause.

Kindly advice any suggestion,

Everything was running great - until I start up Apple Mail. Within a few minutes the Force Quit Applications window pops up telling me I'm out of application memory and to quit any apps I'm not using. Mail is show using 99.41 gb of memory!!! I've tried using Rebuild from the menu. Rebooting. I still get the same resuilt. I do use the plugin Spamsieve. It seems to be installed properly and the developer's website indicates no issues with M2. Any thoughts? If I don't launch Mail things are fin.

mac book air m2 ram throttling I have a MBA M2 with 8GB of Ram, purchased Nov 2022. I'm a basic user of Office, Teams, Chrome browser, email, whatsapp desktop etc. All was fine until the most recent Ventura security update about 2 weeks back. Went to the Genius Bar who advised fresh re-install. Did not really help. They checked Hardware all fine. Problem is that intermittently, RAM usage jumps to red level and I need to force quit something. For some reason it puts the entire Mail mailbox (40 GB) into RAM. I am using the Apple Mail app. Driving me crazy, any advice kindly received.

Mail in Ventura crashes system New mac mini with Ventura 13.2. Upn starting Mail, the Memory requirement (as seen on Activity monitor) skyrockets to over 40GB within a few minutes, and then the system begins sending an error message stating that Mail needs to be force quit

Do you have "Protect Mail Activity" enabled in Mail Settings? If so, you might try disabling it as a test. If you have many mailboxes and email accounts, this may cause excessive activity as you described.
