New MacMini 2023 M2Pro Running out of application memory.

Help! I recieved my new macmini 2023 today. 32g RAM. 1tb SSD. I used Migration assistant to tranfer my data from my old 2018 intel mac. Everything was running great - until I start up Apple Mail. Within a few minutes the Force Quit Applications window pops up telling me I'm out of application memory and to quit any apps I'm not using. Mail is show using 99.41 gb of memory!!! I've tried using Rebuild from the menu. Rebooting. I still get the same resuilt.

I do use the plugin Spamsieve. It seems to be installed properly and the developer's website indicates no issues with M2. Any thoughts? If I don't launch Mail things are fin.

Hey there and welcome to Apple Support Communities Jolly Blackburn1,

We can certainly understand your concern and are here to help.

We would like you to perform a couple of steps to see if that resolves the issue.

  1. Quit the Mail app
  2. Click Apple menu () System Settings > Internet Accounts
  3. Click the account in the left sidebar and uncheck the box for Mail
  4. Re-open the Mail app and test it out

Let us know the results after following these steps and we will go from there.

Kindest regards!
