iMAC migration issue.

I purchased a new iMAC and transferred my files from my old iMAC to my new iMAC utilizing apple migration assistant. Following completion of the transfer I noticed that some of the files may have duplicated. How can I check for any duplicates and deleted them?

Thank You.

MA will not duplicate files. Please advise EXACTLY how you executed MA. Please begin from the time you turned on the new iMac for the very first time.

If you did not follow the steps as described in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant then you did not execute MA correctly!!!

The new iMAC was activated without any problems. The two iMAC’s were connected via cable and the most current Time Machine backup was utilized to transfer the files from my old iMAC to the new one.

Everything seemed alright, but when I checked the HD for storage it seemed off.

The old iMAC prior to transfer was 751.18 GB Free of 099.35 GB

The new iMAC at completion of the transfer was 5.57 GB free of 6245.11 GB
